Inmate found dead in Rankin County prison

An inmate that escaped from a Noxubee County facility is found dead in a Rankin County prison.

Darrell Harper was found December 4 at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility, near Pearl.

 The investigation into his death continues.

Harper escaped from the Noxubee County Community Work Center on November 21.

He was set to be released within a few weeks of that escape.

He was serving time for a burglary conviction out of Benton County.
