IHL names new president of Jackson State University
JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – Jackson State University will soon have a new campus leader.
The Institutions of Higher Learning named Dr. Marcus Thompson as the next president.
He will be the university’s 13th president beginning November 27.
Thompson has more than 20 years of leadership experience in early childhood, K-12, and higher education.
Right now, he’s the deputy commissioner and chief administrative officer for IHL.
Thompson replaces Dr. Elayne Hayes Anthony, who was serving as president in an interim role.
