Hunt for Hunger Program
AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) – The 9th Annual Hunt for Hunger campaign is underway to help feed the hungry.
With hunting season in full swing the Amory Food Pantry will be looking to hunters for food. Every year the pantry provides more than two tons of deer meat to needy people throughout the Monroe County. The program allows hunters a chance to donate venison meat to benefit the pantry’s supply. With a shortage of supplies during the month of January and February the protein -rich meat provides many meals for county residents.
Hunters can go to participating processors for the their donations. Becker Bottom Processing, Bigbee Processing, Bucci’s Processing, Grey’s Processing and Mobley’s Processing. At the processors hunters can also make a 10 dollar tax-deductible donation to the cause.
