Hundreds gather for Columbus Councilman Gene Taylor’s funeral

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Hundreds gathered to bid farewell to Columbus City Councilman Gene Taylor.

Funeral services were held for Taylor Sunday afternoon at the Trotter Convention Center followed by a procession to the burial.

Taylor passed away August 5 after suddenly becoming ill. He had represented Ward 1 on the Columbus City Council since 2006.

He leaves behind a wife, three daughters, and a granddaughter.
