By: Michelle Lowe
Houston, Mississippi (WCBI) – A domestic dispute spurs a standoff between Houston Police and a female suspect. Officers were called to a home on Pittsboro Street Thursday evening.
Chief Billy Voyles says they found Teresa Duncan, barricaded in her Pittsboro Street home. She had allegedly opened fire on a male before taking a baseball bat to his car, and was refusing to surrender to authorities.
After several methods of negotiation failed, police stormed the home around 8:45 p.m.
There they found several firearms, including a rifle, shotgun and pistol.
Chief Voyles says alcohol likely played a role.
Duncan was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder. She will remain behind bars in the Chickasaw County jail.
Voyles passed along his thanks for the assistance provided by the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Department, the Narcotics Unit, and first responders at the scene.
