Houston Fire Fighters Honored

HOUSTON, Miss. (WCBI)-It takes courage to race head first into a fire.

And not many are willing to do it but some are. And of those men and women that protect us from fires, a few were honored. Robert Goza with the Houston Fire Department was named the 2013 Houston firefighter of the year.

Goza was honored for his 50 years of service at the department last night. Other 2013 Houston award winners were: Top Nozzle award winners Bobby Sanderson, Linda Griffin, Bruce Burkeen, Robert Goza, and Jonathan Blankenship.

Cold Sheet winners were: Bruce Burkeen, Bobby Sanderson, and Curtis Jernigan and Linda Griffin was named this years Star of Life winner.
