Video: Highway Dedicated In Late Senator’s Memory
WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – A section of Highway 45 is named in memory of a senator who served in the legislature for twenty years.
The Mississippi Department of Transportation held a special ceremony Thursday to unveil the “Senator Bennie L. Turner Memorial Highway” sign.
State and local officials along with family and friends attended the ceremony.
The section of roadway will stretch from a part of U.S. Highway 45 Alternate in Clay County and extend south to the Lowndes County line.
Senator Turner served the people of Clay County from 1992 until his death in 2012.
