High-Tech Marijuana Operation Busted
NESHOBA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — The Neshoba County Sheriff’s Department is calling it a high-tech operation.
Early Friday, sheriff’s investigators executed a search warrant of a shed at Road 127 in Union County. Inside investigators say they discovered a high tech marijuana operation. 40 marijuana plants, central heat and air, high tech lights, and a water system were found among other items.
Deputies originally responded to an alleged assault and robbery at the residence next door Thursday night. 52 year-old Omar Marquer told deputies he was beaten and robbed and had gone to his neighbors in pursuit with a baseball bat. Deputies found the shed outside Marquer’s residence and smelled a strong marijuana scent which lead to the warrant. Marquer was arrested and charged with Manufacturing Marijuana with Intent, and Possession with Intent.
The operation seized is almost identical to an operation seized inside a house in the North Bend community this past June.
Deputies are not certain if the two operations are related. More arrests are expected to be made.
