Henderson Named SEC Player of the Week
OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI/Ole Miss Athletics) – Senior guard Marshall Henderson has been named the SEC Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
The Hurst, Texas native averaged 22.0 points and 3.5 assists per game in Ole Miss’ wins over LSU and South Carolina last week.
Against the Tigers, the senior scored a game-high 25 points including 19 after halftime on 6-of-12 shooting from behind the arc and dished out a career-high 7 assists.
Henderson scored 19 points, 16 of which came in the second half, as Ole Miss erased a 10-point halftime deficit to knock off South Carolina on the road Saturday. It was the first win in Columbia for the Rebels since 2001.
Henderson ranks second in the nation averaging 4.43 3-pointer made per game and is third in SEC history with a 3-pointer made in 50-consecutive games.
