Help Sought for Calhoun, Chickasaw Fire Victims
CALHOUN/CHICKASAW COUNTIES, Miss. (WCBI) — The Red Cross and other agencies in at least two area counties are scrambling to help two more families who lost everything in Tuesday morning fires.
Phyllis Buchanan lost everything she owned Tuesday morning when her home on County Road 168 east of Houston in Chickasaw County burned to the ground. Buchanan had taken a grandchild to the doctor and was away from home when the fire was reported.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Nelson and her children lost everything when fire destroyed their mobile home on County Road 431 in New Liberty in Calhoun County. They also weren’t at home when the fire west of Vardaman was reported.
