MACON, Miss. (WCBI) – The sunshine and clear skies brought out dozens of Noxubee County residents to their hospital for a health fair.
This is the fifth consecutive year Noxubee General Hospital has hosted the fair.
Health groups from across the region took over the front entrance with dozens of booths for residents.
Organizers say they wanted to give back to the community, and raise awareness about breast cancer.
Vendors offered various health screenings, and even flu shots.
“Patients can learn that they have the opportunity to come out,” said organizer Katherine Mickens. “We’re offering a lot of vendors, so they can actually get information, and they can know where they can get help from medically.”
Friday’s health fair event was free, except for those who wanted to get a flu shot.
