Guntown Middle School hosts Color Run
GUNTOWN, MISS. (WCBI) – Students, teachers and even some familiar faces were doused with color as they ran through Guntown Middle School’s campus as part of a fundraiser.
The Guntown Parent Teacher Organization hosted a “Color Run.” Participants, including WCBI’s Allie Martin, who was the celebrity runner, took on the nearly two mile course.
Throughout the course, volunteers sprayed colored water, or threw colored cornstarch onto the runners, as they made their way through the fun run.
Proceeds raised will help the school get a much needed new multi purpose building.
“The building we have now is not big enough for all of our students at one time, we have to have a bigger building, it’s been here since the school’s been here,” said Guntown PTO President Susie Sutherland.
The Guntown PTO holds several fundraisers through the year to help with the new multi purpose building.
More than 120 people took part in the color run.
