Guilty Plea Reached In Child Sex Crime Case

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A guilty plea will send a man to prison for 25 years in an Oktibbeha County child sex crime case.

James Sudduth pleaded guilty to sexual battery of a child under the age of 14.

He was indicted in last June for sexual battery and willfully exposing a child to HIV.

District Attorney Scott Colom says the investigation revealed the child was not infected with HIV.

Colom called it one of the worst sex crime cases his office has prosecuted.

Starkville police investigated the incident.

Sudduth will not be eligible for parole.
