Group Raises Awareness About Child Abuse

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Some Starkville residents want to put a stop to child abuse.

They’re wrapping up Child Abuse Prevention Awareness month, which is in April, with a special event at the Emerson Family Resource Center.

The group gave presentations on awareness activities at churches, schools and businesses, plus awarded the child abuse prevention display winners.

Several local and state groups, like the Department of Health and Community Counseling Services, sponsored Thursday’s event.
