A GREAT FRIDAY, BUT “NATE” MESSES WITH THE WEEKEND
FRIDAY: Look for a mostly sunny to partly cloudy day with warm highs in the mid to upper 80s. Temperatures will cool into the 70s for high school football. Overall it’ll be a great way to close out the work week!
SATURDAY: Humidity and cloud cover increases as moisture surges in from the Gulf. The morning hours should be fairly dry but more in the way of scattered showers and isolated storms can be expected during the afternoon hours. Highs will be in the 80s. Look for south winds between 7-12mph with gusts perhaps higher towards Saturday Night. Heavier rain appears likely to start Saturday Night.
SUNDAY: All eyes will be on the remnants of “Nate” as the center of circulation moves northeast towards our area during. The exact track of the center is key because it will determine whether or not there will be a spin up tornado threat or not. If our area is on the western half of the circulation then the tornado threat will be nil but that will change if we end up on the eastern side. Regardless, we’ll have the potential for gusty breezes and a few inches of rain. Recent dry conditions suggest widespread flooding will not be a concern but it bears watching of course. Highs will be in the upper 70s to perhaps a few in the low 80s. During the day Sunday, look for winds perhaps as high as 25-35mph with gusts up to 50mph closer to the center of circulation.
NEXT WEEK: Rain chances will continue Monday through Wednesday on the backside of “Nate”. It’ll remain muggy with highs in the 80s and lows around 70°.
