Governor Bryant Declares State of Emergency

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI)- Governor Phil Bryant has declared a state of emergency for the state of Mississippi as Tropical Storm Nate moves into the Gulf.

This authorizes the use of state resources- like the National Guard- to aid in storm response efforts.

At 10 this morning, the National Hurricane Center issued hurricane and storm surge warnings for the Mississippi Coast.

They are expecting hurricane conditions within the next 36 hours.
