Video: ‘Go Fund Me’ Account Set For Family Of Young Gunshot Victim
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – As a 12 year old Tupelo youth remains in LeBonheur, recovering from a gunshot wound to his neck, friends of his family are trying to raise money to help offset unexpected expenses.
Last Friday, 12 year old KeShun Vasser was shot after arriving at his home at Oak Creek Apartments after school.
KeShun was taken to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, where he is in stable condition.
Lindsey Martin has known KeShun and his mother for years and wanted to help, so she started a “Go Fund Me” page for the family.
So far, nearly $4,000 has been raised, and Lindsey Martin says KeShun’s mother appreciates all of the help.
“No mother or parent should have to have the fear and worry of bills at the same time of worrying about their child, if his diaphram is going to work and a ventilator can be taken out or if he’s going to be paralyzed, so our biggest thing right now is to help ease the strain of the finances for her so she can focus primarily on KeShun,” Martin said.
