FXI Brings New Jobs To Baldwyn

BALDWYN, Miss. (WCBI)- The city of Baldwyn is continuing to grow and provide opportunities for residents to make a living. Monday morning FXI made an announcement that 60 new jobs that will be brought to the area.
“I wanted to show people that North East Mississippi is back,” Governor Phil Bryant said.
“60 jobs is a good advancement for any community, but here in Baldwyn we consider that tremendous,” Baldwyn Mayor Michael James said.
The new jobs represent a corporate investment of more than 700,000 dollars.
FXI is a leading producer of foams and health care products.
Baldywn Mayor Michael James said he’s hoping these new jobs will bring more people into the community.
“If somebody hasn’t had a job or they’re looking for a better paying job, there’s opportunity’s there and you know as Americans that’s what we look for is just an opportunity,” James said.
FXI has already started it’s hiring process for the new jobs, and so far eleven people have been hired.
“We’re looking for a diverse set of employees from maintenance employees, to production employees, to quality assistance, so there is a wide need that we have,” Kevin Partlow said.
With the development of the new jobs, it brings a total of 250 employees between the two plants in Tupelo, and Baldwyn.
Governor Phil Bryant says that number alone speaks volumes about the economic growth in North Mississippi.
“This is a dynamic growing area with a phenomenal work force and we’re going to see more expansion. There have been 3,00 jobs that have been created just this year, and one thousand of them have been created within North East Mississippi,” he said.
