Fraud Alert: Mail Solicitation Targets MS Businesses

JACKSON, Miss. (Press Release) — The Secretary of State’s Office has received numerous complaints regarding a company called “Annual Business Services,” which is soliciting businesses across the State. In another mass mailout to businesses statewide, Annual Business Services requests businesses to provide sensitive information and a check for $125.00, in what appears as an official correspondence. In return, the company would prepare an “Annual Minutes Requirement Statement.”

There is no “Annual Minutes Requirement Statement” form required by the Secretary of State’s Office.

The Secretary of State’s Office encourages Mississippi corporations to utilize extreme caution in the disclosure of sensitive information. This Agency does not require the submission of such information with the State of Mississippi and opposes the collection of such information for public dissemination.
