Four Arrested In Vardaman Home Invasion And Robbery
Vardaman, Miss. (WCBI) – A Vardaman senior citizen is choked and held down while robbers go through his home.
Police say the plan was hatched at a pool hall, and the suspects left a key piece of evidence.
Austen Martin and Dulaney Collums are charged with strong armed robbery and burglary of a dwelling.
Vardaman Police Chief Kenneth Scott says the incident happened early Sunday morning on Richard Street.
Scott says Martin and Collums kicked in the door, wore plastic Wal-Mart bags over their faces, and stole $150. This is when the victim was held down and choked. He wasn’t seriously injured.
Police later found Martin’s cell phone outside the victim’s home and was able to track him down in Houston.
Meanwhile, Scott says another duo was outside positioned as lookouts.
Andrew Fowler and Christopher Haimes are charged with burglary of a dwelling.
The suspects are from Chickasaw and Calhoun Counties.
Law enforcement from both counties assisted in the investigation.
Bond was set at $100,000 for each of the suspects.
