Former Supervisor Sentenced on Extortion Charges

CALHOUN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Calhoun County Supervisor Ernest Fox pleaded  guilty to Federal extortion charges Wednesday.

As part of his plea deal, Fox receives 2 years probation for his felony conviction in the PACS program, which is an alternative sentencing route.

Fox will pay for and receive cognitive behavioral therapy. He will be closely supervised during his treatment.

Fox also submitted his retirement letter today to the Calhoun County Board of supervisors.

The conviction stems from a scheme where Fox told a Calhoun County man he had to donate to Fox’s re-election campaign or his rights to drive a log truck in Calhoun County would be revoked.
