Former Officer Gets Year in Prison
ECRU, Miss. (WCBI) — A former Ecru police officer turned minister gets a year in prison.
Jody Mac Rock,36, also must perform 100 hours of community service work and spend a year on probation for extorting payments from two motorists in exchange for dropping tickets while he was a police officer in 2008.
Rock was indicted last year and pleaded guilty earlier this year to depriving people of their constitutional rights.
He could have received up to a year in prison on each count and fines up to $100,000.
He is now a minister in the Pontotoc area.
