Video: Former Mathiston Police Chief Indicted

WEBSTER COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A former Mathiston police chief is indicted by a Webster County grand jury.

Johnathan Shane Box is charged with embezzlement by a public employee.

Court documents say the alleged crime happened between February fourth and November 12th of 2015.

Five pistols, two AR-15 rifles, and one shotgun are listed on the indictment.

Box was suspended this past April and resigned in May.

The Attorney General’s office is prosecuting the case and had no comment on Tuesday.
