COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A former Columbus city judge is reprimanded by the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance.
The commission says Nicole Clinkscales made statements on social media that can be considered to show racial bias and prejudice.
She’s also accused of endorsing a candidate on social media, presiding over a case involving her nephew, and giving misleading and deceptive responses to a reporter about her arrest for disobeying a police officer.
The commission also found Clinkscales routinely started court late and ordered people into a voluntary drug court program.
Some of those people also stayed in the program longer than the law allows.
Clinckscales was also ordered to pay $563.
