Former Berry Mayor Honored
BERRY, Ala. (WCBI)- A former Berry Mayor is honored for his 20 year leadership legacy. 79 year-old Roy Dobbs was honored by the The West Alabama Regional Commission when they presented him with it’s prestigious David M. Cochrane Award which honors leadership. Dobbs was first elected as Mayor in 1992 and in his 20 years of service he helped shaped the community that stands today. A few of the accomplishments Dobbs is known for is his help acquiring a new $8 million dollar water system installed which now provides clean drinking water for more than 1,600 residents. And his help accrued enough funding for a new $1.5 million dollar community center.
