Former Amory High School teacher found guilty of child sex crimes
AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) – A former Amory High School teacher has been convicted of federal child sex crimes.
Toshemie Wilson was found guilty of eight counts of using students to produce sexually explicit material while he was a teacher at Amory.
Prosecutors said Wilson used his position as a teacher and an advisor for the group “Technology Students of America” to groom the students and have them produce videos of themselves performing sex acts.
Wilson would reward them with money or drugs.
The investigation began when a former student reported the abuse to a counselor. Investigators from the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office and the F.B.I. found at least 10 other students with similar stories.
Eight of those testified against Wilson, naming places where Wilson had them make the videos, including out-of-town school trips.
Wilson was also under indictment on state charges in Monroe County.
He will be sentenced for the federal conviction at a later date.
