Former Alcorn Supervisor Heading To Prison
(CORINTH, MS) WCBI – Former Alcorn County Supervisor Dal Nelms will be locked up for the next 12 years. That’s the prison term Nelms received after pleading guilty to five counts of fraud and embezzlement. Nelms will also have to pay back more than 300 thousand dollars in fines and restitution. Former Alcorn County vendor Jimmy Ray Mitchell was sentenced to one year house arrest. Mithcell pled guilty earlier to fraud charges and has been cooperating in the ongoing investigation. Others n the corruption scheme are slated to appear in court for pleas this afternoon.
