CALHOUN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Forensic testing continued on remains found in Calhoun County.

Sheriff Greg Pollan said a hunter was leaving the woods Saturday evening on County Road 211, near Bruce, when he found the body.

Pollan told WCBI that the person found dead had been living in a makeshift tent.

He believed the remains were that of a Hispanic migrant worker. There was an ID but DNA testing would have to be done to confirm the person’s identity.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and Bruce police were assisting in the investigation.

No foul play was suspected.

The remains were sent to the state crime lab.
