Five-Year-Old Child Victim of Fatal Gun Accident

WINSTON CO., Miss. (WCBI) – A Winston County five-year-old is dead after two kids were playing with a gun and it fired.

Sheriff Jason Pugh says the incident happened this afternoon in the 4000 block of High Point Ware Road.

Winston County Coroner Scott Gregory says 5 year old Jeremiah Brown died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

The other child involved is a six-year-old.

Pugh says the children’s guardians had worked the night shift and were sleeping when the shot was fired.
