Five ICC Indians Earn MACJC All-State Baseball Honors
FULTON, Miss. (WCBI/LetsGoICC.com) – Delta State signee Ethan Gill (Pontotoc) was named to the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-State First team when the league announced the awards on Wednesday.
The sophomore third baseman batted a team-high .388 while leading the Indians with his .540 on-base and .629 slugging percentages to go along with his team-leading 52 runs, 45 hits, 34 RBI, 31 walks, 11 doubles and 5 home runs.
Pitcher Brady Chambley (Winona), shortstop Luke Gibbs (Oxford), outfielder and Mississippi Valley State University signee Drew Wheeler (Mooreville) and outfielder Tanner Poole (Amory) were all selected Second Team MACJC All-State.
Chambley went 3-2 with a save and earned NJCAA Pitcher of the week. He finished his freshman season with a 4.56 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 53.1 innings pitched.
Gibbs batted .331 with a .445 on-base percentage and .488 slugging percentage. He had 42 hits with 10 doubles, 2 triples and 2 home runs to go along with 23 runs scored and 23 runs driven in.
Wheeler batted .302 with a .400 on-base percentage and .388 slugging percentage. He had 42 hits with 6 doubles and 2 home runs while driving in 25 runs and scoring 34 more runs in his final season in Fulton.
Poole finished his freshman season with a .353 batting average, .420 on-base percentage and .504 slugging percentage. He had 42 hits with 9 doubles, a team-high 3 triples and 1 home run to drive in 22 runs while scoring 29 runs.
