First of Mobile Medical Unit Arrives in Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Eight trucks loaded with mobile equipment arrived in Louisville Sunday afternoon.
It’s just a small portion of the large mobile hospital unit traveling from North Carolina.
Monday’s tornado destroyed Winston County Regional Medical Center.
The mobile hospital is stationed at Teter’s Floral Products parking lot on Church Street.
“This is the Governor’s priority. To get the healthcare sector going again here in Louisville and it’s good to see that some of this equipment has started to arrive. We’ll have some more arriving over the next couple of days and begin putting the hospital together here in Louisville,” said Jim Craig with the Mississippi State Department of Health.
Organizers say they’ll begin assembling the equipment by the middle of next week.
