Fire destroys mobile home in Clay County

CLAY COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – An early afternoon fire destroys a mobile home in Clay County.

West Point Battalion Chief Bert Parker says the call came in just after 12 pm.

When firefighters got to the home on Strong Hill Road, it was engulfed in flames.

The owner told investigators he went outside after starting a fire in his wood-burning stove.

When he returned, flames had spread inside the home.

No one was injured. Trucks from Clay County and West Point responded to the fire.
