Few showers Friday ahead of frost potential Sunday morning

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – Another mild day with a few showers Friday gives way to a dry and occasionally chilly weekend.

FRIDAY: Highs will range today thanks to varying degrees of cloud cover, but the Golden Triangle should see afternoon temps in the low 70s. There will be a few passing showers at times, but most places will end up staying dry. A cold front is set to move through in the afternoon and evening, which will bring colder air for the weekend (at times).

WEEKEND: Saturday looks gorgeous with plenty of sun and a high temperature in the upper 60s. It gets colder overnight with lows dropping into the middle 30s. Sunday stays dry and pleasant w/highs back in the upper 60s, though clouds will gradually increase.

NEXT WEEK: Monday during the day looks mild in the low 70s with occasional showers. Monday night into early Tuesday looks stormy as a much stronger system approaches. Models continue to differ on the exact setup, but overall signals still point to a potential strong to severe thunderstorm risk with this system. Stay tuned through the weekend as details (hopefully) become clearer. Much colder air moves in behind this front, and Wednesday & Thursday look quite chilly. A freeze is likely Thanksgiving morning.
