Federal Judge Drops Lawsuit Against P.S.C.
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A federal judge dropped the Mississippi Rural Water Association’s lawsuit against the Mississippi Public Service Commission.
Northern District Commissioner Brandon Presley made the announcement Friday evening.
The new rule approved by the commission this past fall would postpone utility deposits for certified domestic violence victims, allowing them sixty days to come up with the deposit money.
In the lawsuit, the water association claimed the P.S.C. has no jurisdiction to regulate rates or the collection process.
