OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) – The man accused of calling in a bomb threat to a Columbus hospital is now facing a federal charge.
In court documents, prosecutors say Michael Sparks admitted to F.B.I agents that he made the phone and called it a “foolish prank.”
Sparks is now charged with communicating a false bomb threat, using a cell phone.
The affidavit shows a call came into Baptist Golden Triangle’s switchboard on November 13th.
A call asked the operator if she wanted to die.
Then said there was a bomb in the hospital and it would go off in 15 minutes.
A cell phone was traced to the Leflore County Restitution Center in Greenwood.
The phone was recovered.
