Fatal collision: Tupelo man faces charges
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A Tupelo man faces serious charges following a weekend wreck that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.
On Saturday, Tupelo police were called to a report of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle in the area of Highway 45 near McCullough Boulevard.
Officers found the victim in the median of Highway 45.
He was unresponsive when officers located him. He died at the scene.
The driver, Jontavis Daniels who remained at the scene, was taken into custody.
As a result of the investigation, Daniels was charged with driving under the influence – death.
His bond has been set at $100,000.
