Failed Brakes Cause Dump Truck Crash

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A dump truck driver has a rocky ride this morning after his brakes went out and the rig overturns.

The crash happened near the intersection of Highway 791 and Industrial Park Road.

Lowndes County deputies say the driver was hauling rocks from a nearby plant when the brakes on the truck failed, as he tried to stop.

The driver had minor injuries to his head, but refused to go to the hospital.

Crews were sent to clean up the mess and at least one lane of traffic was closed.
