Ex-substitute Teacher Awaits Sentencing for Enticing a Minor for Sex

UPDATE: TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Matthew Whitt, 25, of Tupelo awaits sentencing on Jan. 23 after pleading guilty to enticing a minor for illegal sex.
Whitt is a former Lee County substitute teacher who pleaded guilty to one count of using interstate communications to entice a minor for sex last September.
He will be sentenced in Oxford by Chief U.S. District Judge Michael P. Mills.
Whit was federally indicted last January on two counts of enticing a minor for sex to make images for his personal use and to entice for sex.
He faces a minimum of 10 years in prison and up to life for the federal charges.
