TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — He says he didn’t do it. But evidence removed from James Everett Dutschke’s karate studio have tested positive for ricin.
Ricin is the poison used to taint letters sent to Senator Roger Wicker and President Barack Obama. Lee County Judge Saidie Holland received a ricin letter also.
An FBI affidavit states that on April 22, James Everett Dutschke removed several items from his former studio in Tupelo.
The affidavit says tests indicate that items, including a dust mask, recovered from a trash can down the street from the studio tested positive for ricin. A coffee grinder, yellow paper, address labels, along with a mop bucket and fire extinguisher were also recovered from the dumpster.
The affidavit also says trace amounts of ricin were found in the studio, and that Dutschke bought castor beans on the Internet on two separate occasions [click here to read the affidavit].
Castor beans are used to make the poison.
