Eupora City Clerk

EUPORA, Miss. (WCBI) -Eupora Aldermen names a new city clerk.

Gail Newton will fill the position that will be left behind by current City Clerk Lesa Hardin who submitted a letter of resignation in October.

Hardin has accepted a position with the City of Starkville. She has been City Clerk since 1998.

Newton, a deputy clerk with the Water Department since 2001 is looking forward to taking the position over.

After an executive session Eupora Mayor and Board of Alderman agreed to suspend interviews and promote Newton to the position.
