Escaped Lamar County inmate back in custody
LAMAR COUNTY, Ala. (WCBI) – An escaped inmate from Lamar County is back in jail, and he has company.
U.S. Marshals captured Jimmy Randolph, 33, Friday afternoon across the state line in Lee County.
They’ve also arrested his girlfriend, Amy Hickman.
Randolph overpowered a jailer after he was taken to a doctor’s office for treatment.
Investigators had believed he had help in his escape.
Randolph was in jail on failure to appear sentence. He was 10 days away from being released.
He and Hickman may now be facing additional charges.
