Escaped Inmates Have Area Ties

Forrest County Community Work Center inmates JAMES ROBERT MARTIN, MDOC #136360 and DAVID BASS, MDOC #156534, left from the facility, in Hattiesburg at approximately 5:00 p.m. today. Both inmates were last seen wearing MDOC state-issued green and white striped pants and white MDOC shirts with “MDOC Convict” printed on the back.

Authorities are searching for MARTIN a 22-year old white male with blue eyes, blonde hair and weighs 150 pounds. MARTIN is serving a 5-year sentence for a conviction of Grand Larceny from Monroe County.

BASS is a 26-year old white male with blue eyes, blonde hair and weighs 180 pounds. BASS is serving a 7-year sentence for 5 convictions of Burglary from Lee County.
