Escaped inmate back in custody

NOXUBEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- A Noxubee County inmate who escaped earlier this week is back in custody.

Darrell Jamal Harper, 20, was arrested Thursday in Benton County.

Macon Police Chief Davine Beck says Harper jumped the fence Tuesday, at the Noxubee County Community Work Center.

Harper was set to be released in just a few weeks.

This is the second time in less than a month, an inmate has escaped from the MDOC run facility.
