Eight In Custody, One Arrested After Gas Station Brawl

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Eight people are in custody and one person charged, after a fight at a Columbus convenience store.

The incident is believed to be connected to two shootings, one last night and another this morning.

Columbus city spokesman Joe Dillon says a witness claims one of the cars at the fight matches a vehicle involved in the second shooting.

The fight happened just after 8 a-m, at the Sprint Mart, in the 700 block of highway 45 north.

Columbus police say, two guns were found on scene but no shots were fired.

No injuries were reported and no names have been released.

The two shootings took place on 21st Street North and 15th Avenue South.

No injuries were reported in either incident.
