Easter Service Argument Leads To Arrests
MABEN, Miss. (WCBI) – Three people are arrested after an ongoing argument, spills over into an Easter Sunday church service.
Montez Howell, 20, of Pontotoc is charged with disrupting a place of worship and trespassing. Another charge is also possible.
Christopher Mayes, 39, also of Pontotoc, is charged with Hindering Prosecution and Possession of Stolen Property.
Meanwhile, Mittie Burdine, 34, of Tupelo is charged with Trespassing.
Oktibbeha County investigators say Howell went inside a Maben church and attempted to get a child to leave with him about 9am, on Sunday.
Church members stepped in and got Howell outside. The child was not hurt.
The incident remains under investigation.
Burdine was released on a $433 bond.
Howell and Mayes remain in jail.
