Early morning Lee County fire kills one

LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The cause of a deadly Lee County fire remains under investigation.

Coroner Carolyn Green said she was called to the Skyline community, on Highway 178, just before 4 a.m. Tuesday.

One person was killed in the blaze.

The person’s name is not being released at this time.

A spokeswoman for the State Fire Marshal said the fire is being investigated.

The cause of the fire was determined to be a space heater too close to combustibles. There were no smoke alarms.
