Duo arrested on drug charges in Booneville

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Two Belmont men are facing drug charges, one of them, Booneville Police say brought drugs into the jail, the other was wanted by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Jorge Perez, 29, and Fernando Moreno, 27, were pulled over on East Chambers Drive Monday.

They’re both facing Methamphetamine Possession charges.

Perez is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine in a correctional facility. Police say he had drugs on him at the time of his arrest.

Moreno, police say, was on probation with MDOC in Union County and they later discovered, he was wanted for Failure to Report.

Both men are in the Prentiss County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
