Drug Bust Nets Sixteen Pounds Of Marijuana And $8,800 Cash
LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A convicted felon is arrested and charged with drug trafficking and being in possession of a gun.
Daris Fair, 26, was arrested after agents with the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit and deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Department served a search warrant at 121 Savannah Street in Verona.
In the apartment, law officers found mariuana, cash and a 40 caliber pistol.
Agents also found a large amount of marijuana they say belonged to Fair in a car located at 304 Tall Oaks Avenue in Verona.
In all, 16lbs of marijuana was confiscated, and $8,800 in cash.
Authorities say the arrest was the result of an extensive investigation into illegal drug activity taking place in Verona.
“It goes in with other work we’ve been trying to do in Verona area, since the saturation detail with the ATF,” said Lee County Chief Deputy John Hall.
Fair is charged with Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute, and Possession of a Firearm by a convicted felon.
His bond has been set at $40,000.
