Drowning at Gilmer Inn Pool

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Tragedy strikes at the Gilmer Inn.

According to the staff, the maintenance man found 21-year-old Amber Shellnut, of Columbus, in the bottom of the pool around 7:30 Thursday (8-1) night.

He and the desk clerk pulled Shellnut from the water and called 911.

They say she had a faint pulse.

Shellnut was rushed to the hospital.

The inn workers say that they were notified around 9 o’clock, Thursday (8-1)night that Shellnut had died.

For now, that’s all we know about the investigation.
