Driver Dies In Early Morning Tupelo Accident

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – One person is dead after an early morning accident in Tupelo.

According to police, it happened at the intersection of Lawndale Dr. and Cliff Gookin Blvd.

It happened a little before 4:30 this morning, March 26.

A 2014 Toyota Camry collided with a 2000 Jeep Wrangler at the intersection.

The driver of the jeep, Adrian Lopez, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the person in the Camry received minor injuries.

Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green says Lopez was not wearing a seat belt.

The collision also caused damage to the traffic light. Drivers should expect delays while repairs are made.
